AKG K 518 DJ

Released August, 2007
The Pros:They fold up flat. Blocks out external noise. Very durable.
The Cons:Clamp pretty hard on your head. Uncomfortable. Lack of padding on the top of the headband.
The AKG K 518 DJ are closed-back, supra-aural headphones that are part of AKG's Wired line and are aimed at the budget-minded dj. Being the little brother of the AKG K 81 DJ they share the same design including a unique 3D-Axis folding mechanism which enables many wearing configurations.
The closed-back design and isolating earcups do not allow sound to escape or intrude which is crucial for listening in a noisy environment such as a nightclub or party. These carry a rugged design and have speakers designed with NdFe magnets which can handle a maximum of 2000mW at 32 ohms. For the price these could be the best true dj headphones for the buck.
