Alessandro MS1i
$99.00
Released March, 2009
The Pros:Actually quite comfortable if you get used to them (takes several months!). Open design lets your ears breath, not as stuffy as closed headphones. Simple build is easy to fix yourself, won't break in weird ways.
The Cons:Not commercially available. Not as 'fun' as Grados. Potential comfort issues.
Reintroduced in March 2009 with a tweaked and improved driver, the Alessandro MS1i is a high end headphone designed by Grado and Alessandro, and distributed by Alessandro. Designed to be more neutral in their presentation compared to their coloured Grado brethren, the MS series is created for music makers in mind.
With the same plastic body as the presteige series (SR60i through 225i), the MS1i mixes technologies from the lower end SR60i/80i and the middle-of-the-line black sheep, the SR125i. Priced at a flat $99 with free world wide shipping, the MS1i is considered an ideal substitute for individuals outside of the US in countries where Grados are priced far above their American MSRPs.
