JVC HA-S4X
$39.00
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Adequate amount of padding on the headband- stays comfortable over time. Snug fit- doesn't move around on your head.
The Cons:The Red cord really stands out- not sure why it isn't balack? On-ear design as opposed to the more comfortable over-ear design. Built with quite a bit of plastic.
JVC's HA-S4X is the mid-range model of the 2011 Xtreme Xplosives lineup. It is an on-ear setup and resembles the model above it, the HA-M5X. It has padded earcups for comfort, and a padded headband with a camouflage design, intended to improve comfort over long periods of wear.

This model uses 40mm drivers with neodymium magnets, and it is lightweight and portable. The earcups offer some ambient noise isolation. Other features include a red-colored Y-cable, gold-plated 3.5mm jack and a bass port that enhances lower-register clarity. JVC suggests these as a more portable compromise to the larger 50mm-driver model.
