The MDR-ZX500 on-ear stereo headphones offer a classic headphone style with the technology to provide optimum noise cancellation capabilities.  As a part of the Sony ZX series, these lightweight headphones have an over-the-head, monitor style design, with a wide, adjustable headband.

  In addition, these headphones offer noise canceling, with a closed dynamic supra-aural design, and standard Neodymium magnets.  The series is comprised of the ZX100, ZX300, ZX500, and ZX700 models, with a range of drivers and audio frequencies available.  The ZX500, being in the middle range of these options, offers 40mm dome type driver units with OFC copper voice coils, multi-layer film PET diaphragms, and a frequency response of 8-25,000Hz, for increased bass-response performance, and more precise mid and treble tones as well.  These headphones also have a high power capacity of up to 1,500mW, and adjustable crush ear pads to supply a crisper, clearer sound.

Norm: #sony_mdr_zx500 It's not noise cancellation... it's noise isolation. Noise cancellation implies that there is active circuitry and a microphone adjusting the waveform to cancel out ambient sound. All headphones have a degree of noise isolation. Jan 25, 12
